Tarkett participated in the Annual Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference in Brussels, organised by the European Commission and the European Economic Social Committee. Tarkett EMEA’s Sustainability and Public Affairs Director Myriam TRYJEFACZKA shared insights on how transparency is a fundamental tool to develop a healthy Circular Economy. The challenge we need to address is to develop a Circular Economy with recycled and recyclable materials that have been assessed for their impacts on health and the environment. This implies designing with good and recyclable materials and making more information available to customers and end users to help them make conscious purchases.
Tarkett innovates this year with the launch of Material Health Statements in Europe, including the full disclosure and ranking of the materials used to make a product, based on Cradle to Cradle risk assessment and third-party verified. Considering the trends for more digitalized information to support their development, Material Health Statements can be seen as the content basis of future digitalized product passports.
